匯豐銀行在周二（5月10日）發布的報告中稱，今年各國央行購買黃金有望加速。該銀行援引世界黃金協會數據稱，第一季度官方購買黃金達45噸。
匯豐稱“看來各國央行繼續以适度的方式投資黃金。各國央行對黃金的需求對黃金的展望是積極正面的。盡管各國央行的購買量比珠寶及投資需求要小，但比較穩定而且也吸收了一定的黃金數量。更重要的是，那些黃金貯備較大的國家，多數屬於OECD經合組織的成員國，它們出售黃金儲備的意願不強。”
